Timothy Crowley Sound Installation Artist

Pyrite, a work in progress

Timothy Crowley 2005 Nine Days group exhibition with Heather Jansch, Devon. _ Timothy Crowley _

An interactive sound installation set within a woodland nature trail. A camouflaged parabolic dish with microphone records sounds into a computer which reorganises them into a composition, and are played out through speakers there, further along the trail and from within the woods.

Insects flying past are turned into choruses embellished by the acoustic of the wood creating a rich musicality. Conversations and footsteps from an earlier time reappear along the trail, and playful sounds come from within the woods as a result of direct interactions with the dish.
