2026 Landing (a work in progress) |

Stories are just stories exhibition, The CND Space, Holloway Rd, London. |
Landing 2026 reimagines a staircase from the artist's former home in Clapton using materials salvaged on his walks.
This interactive installation blends the artist's past memories with the anonymous history of a discarded 1970s cupboard
converted into stairs as well as found floorboards. Using custom computer programming to weave live audience sounds and
domestic sounds into the evolving soundscape. By merging these histories with real-time audience engagement, the work
transforms a physical structure into a playful evolving space, where private recollections and collective experiences
continually replay and remake one another.
Concealed within the structure is a computer, amplifier, directional mic, contact mics. The installation will integrate
interactive programming to invite engagement. The interactive computer program adjusts these sounds in accordance with
the movement as well as sounds made by participants on the floor.
The installation embodies notions of personal and anonymous memories of childhood and
place, reflecting on how the present moment and past relate. A computer program both
records and processes people's movements or footsteps simultaneously, and incorporating the
original composition of domestic sounds emerging from downstairs.
